★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There was a short hair blonde-painted woman who was SUPER rude to all of us. We had ordered a cake and then had to leave to buy tickets for the opera and come back... After coming back real quick they gave us our cake as a takeout in a box. We took the cake upstairs to eat it and THAT LADY she just did not let us eat there, WE HAD JUST BOUGHT A CAKE FROM THE STORE. Before that, she didn't let us sit anywhere and not even in the bar that was free. Then again she came to call our attention for having the box open. We did want to order and have the experience, but that lady just had a REALLY bad day or something. I know some Europeans and Austrians are direct (may seem rude) but she was simply WAY over the line, to the point it was a complete disrespect to THE POSSIBLE CUSTOMERS.
P.S. poor of her, she must be mad at life or something jajaja ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Sachertorte, compared to Hotel Sacher and Demel. More moist and we finally see the apricot jam. Love the ambiance - I feel the cafe culture in Vienna without the pressure of long lines.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely phenomenal hot chocolate & champagne! Right in front of the Oprah house. My wife & I relaxed and worked there for 4 hours.
First off staff, one of the best I have seen in Vienna so far. When we opened our champagne ? bottle the server came out with a Turkish sword and and opened the bottle for us.
Second, Hot Chocolate was out of this world. This is a big statement but I would have to say better than Demel’s.
Third, Apfel Struddle was good very basic an normal. I enjoyed the vanilla sauce but nothing crazy.
Lastly, The view of the Oprah is purely romantic. Get the bar stools on the bottom floor in the window, no better view of the Oprah house from a cafe shop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In here you will feel like royalty. The photos speak for themselves, these are from the 2nd floor (top floor) of the restaurant. It directly overlooks the main Opera. The interior looks like an actual apartment of lords of the past, which it very well might have been.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went in gerstner cause we had read great reviews, but we were waiting to seat while other customers were using the elevator and had priority even when the waiters saw us. The toilets could be cleaner. The hot chocolate was good and the atmosphere also. I was really disappointed when I saw the waiter who was prepared some cocktails used his hands to put the fruits into the glass without gloves and without using tweezers. In the end they were kindly demanding for their tips when paying by card - “is it ok to add one euro as a tip?”.

It was my favorite cafe for years! I'm very sorry if the management has changed!! The waiters are very rude!!!!! Even when all the tables are empty, they are in a hurry to get you out faster!
As soon as your drink is finished, they will come to the table at any moment, and if you have not a new order, the bill will come to the table without delay. Worst of all, you are being asked for a tip very rudely!! This behavior is repeated many times! I will never go back here!
