Gasthof Post

This was the worst hotel experience in our life. Our son (2year) got a bit sick during the night, he puked over the blanket and pillow of his babybed. Sometimes this happens, we cleaned the puke of the beddings in the shower went to sleep. The following morning, we checked out and to our surprise, the hotel charge us 20,- euro extra for cleaning... (roomcharge 86,- euro)We asked why because we cleaned the dirt of ourself and the only they had to do is put it in a machine. Then the owner came running down, instead she asked how our son was, she starts yelling to us!! I asked if she wants to charge it, then put the amount on the bill. Of course she didn't want that instead she litterly kicked us out the hotel. Of course this hotel doesn't have TripAdvisor but I hope people will read this and never visit this customer unfriendly, rip off hotel! To reply on your comment. To be totally honest, your staff doesn't speak a word English so it is hard to communicate. For your mixed up opinion we didn't cover up, we are clean people and do not like when others need to clean up our mess. So we cleaned the blanked and pillow under the shower so the ''poor maid' didn't had to do it The bed the carpet, the whole room as you described was nothing wrong with. The blanked and pillow was (hot)washed by myself and only needed to be put in a machine.(so no cover up) I'm sure the huge smell you describe is a lie just to make us look bad because there was no smell, very interesting that yo say the smell is even in the hall. The hotel was empty when we were there so it is pretty strange that you say it is fully booked. I wished you called the police then you made a fool of yourself and we had a witness about your silliness. My opinion is that you as a owner should never scream to customers and definitely don't lie about them. For me it's OK now, you are a very bad owner and a bad person and you try to rip off customers. Over the years we stayed in hundreds of hotels and we were never treated like this. Sorry, we do not accept this kind of behavior we will write about it so other travelers are warned. I only hope people will read this and make their own conclusions. It says enough that your hotel doesn't use TripAdvisor.

Delicious food and very friendly service. Make sure to try things from the daily menu and also the desserts. The restaurant is also very kids friendly and they are adapting to special wishes of the little ones.

This place is very cosy. It's a family oriented establishment that's been around for about 10 generations. The staff went out their way to ensure that we were well taken care of during our visit. The food was awesome. If you're in the area and you need a place to stay I would highly recommend the Familien-Gasthof Post. No one in our group spoke Austrian or German but the host spoke English very well and she was very nice. The only issue that I encountered was the timing. When we arrived the owners of the establishment and staff members were scheduled to go on vacation. They informed us that they would be closed until the month of May. We were able to stay for two days but after the third day I had to find some place else to stay. The host did assist me in finding another hotel nearby.

A real gem hidden in the heart of the alps. All the food was from the local farms and it was just amazing.

Wonderful family hotel in a small Austrian village. We only stay for one night, breaking up a long car journey home from our holiday, but we love it. Really great family rooms available, with dividing door between the kids' room and parents', each with own bathroom, tv, and balcony. Dogs welcome too! The breakfast buffet (included in the price) is very good indeed. Dinner in the restaurant is excellent, with local specialities. Highly recommended if you are looking for comfortable accomodation in the area.

Food is ok, quite oily, but fresh. Service was a disgrace! The waitress disappeared for over 20 minutes, we couldn't order any coffee or dessert, let alone the bill. People sat on tables around us and had to leave after waiting in vain for service even though the restaurant wasn't full. Absolutely a shame!

Located just few minutes from the highway A10 between Salzburg and Villach the Gasthof was for us a perfect overnight stop on our way back home. This venue is extremely well kept and there is very much attention put into the smallest details. We had dinner in the restaurant and were impressed about the high quality of the traditional dishes served. The personal was very professional and friendly. We were for example asked shortly after our online reservation If we have special requirements for our children (baby cot in the bedroom, baby seat in the restaurant). Expectations were exceeded.

The service and food were absolutely fabulous! Rooms were clean, stuff kind and helpful. Definitely recommend!
