The facility is spotless, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the views of the countryside are magnificent. There is free off-street parking and an elevator for those staying on the upper floors. Your room price includes a delicious European-style breakfast. The Sallerhof is a short drive from downtown Salzburg, and other places in the region -- Lake Mondsee, the Grossglockner Park, Berchtesgaden, Germany -- are nearby as well. I have been a satisfied patron of the Sallerhof for many years, and can recommend it without reservation... :-)
T	Troy Farren on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We enjoyed our stay here while in Austria. You will take bus 25 from Salzburg to get to the hotel (5 minute walk from bus stop). You can also connect with bus 840 germany to get to Berchtesgaden and Eagles Nest. Suggest purchasing a tages ticket(day ticket) for 10.40 euro since you have to change the bus in Berchtesgaden to get to Eagles Nest and if you want to go into the old town it is another bus. Breakfast was very nice each morning. We loved our balcony that overlooked the mountains! The staff are were very helpful and friendly.

M	Mary Finley on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We'll be back! The owner and front desk manager goes out of his way to help. He's wonderful! We weren't able to arrive until after 11pm (2300), and the front desk usually closes before 8. He left keys for us in a lock box by the front door. He also answered all of our many questions about concerts in Salzburg. The city is only 15 minutes away by car. Our rooms were spacious with great bathrooms and a beautiful view. Each room also has a mini fridge, a safe and, for the kids, a step stool in the bathroom. Breakfast is a good cold buffet with many delicious local dairy choices. The only negatives are the bathroom fan, which sounds like an aircraft taking off and the local fire whistle. It probably rarely goes off, but it did when we were there. So be aware that what sounds like an air raid siren next to your pillow is nothing to worry about. Just worry about getting back to sleep after your heart is beating out of your chest! ;)

This is a great option for exploring the Salzburg area without being surrounded by tourists. The complimentary breakfast was substantial and delicious with local cheeses, breads and other produce that made it delicious!

For those travelers who are not fluent in German, the staff also spoke English very well. The hotel is quiet, clean and very well appointed. The breakfast is outstanding. Get a room with a balcony and view, the view of the Unterberg is tremendous. Our next trip to Salzburg is going to be in couple of years, but we will absolutely stay again.
