Top view on the city of Graz from the top, too bad that the staircase leading to the highest point is about to collapse and the bar is closed. Great potential but not exploited

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super Aussicht über Graz wenn es das Wetter zulässt. Zufahrt mit Vorsicht, sehr viele Radfahrer und Fußgänger, sehr schmale Straße wenig Möglichkeiten zum Ausweichen. Buschenschank (Wirt) ist zur Zeit (Ende Okt. 2021) geschlossen. Aussichtsplattform ist normal geschlossen jedoch jede Menge Leute da oben.
Great view over Graz if the weather permits. Approach with caution, a lot of cyclists and pedestrians, very narrow road few opportunities to evade. Buschenschank (host) is currently (end of October 2021) closed. The viewing platform is normally closed, but there are a lot of people up there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's closed from the public because it's sliding, collapsing, breaking down, it is dangerous to walk on it. But if you are brave you can have a nice view from the top.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ UPDATE: Unfortunately the viewing platform has been closed for several months already due to required restorations, and it's unclear how much longer it will remain closed.
One of the iconic quick city escapes is the hike up to Plabutsch. There are several trails leading up from Graz's districts of Eggenberg and Gösting which take between half hour and 1 hour for the accent. On top you're rewarded with great views over the city as well as to the mountains in the North and the West. There is also a restaurant on top which serves refreshments and typical local fare for the hungry hiker. Their back patio is especially nice and invites you to relax in the summer months.
