★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I LOVE Franz so it hurts my heart to give it only three stars. The interior has a quirky, creative vibe and if feels a bit like you’re in your best friends living room. The staff are super chill and friendly and the prices decent. Unfortunately, it is like walking into a bubble of smoke. I used to go quite often, but have basically stopped going because the smoke is too much for me. Sad. :(

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An amazing hidden gem in Vienna's second district. Other than the good taste in decorating the bar artistically while keeping it minimal and seamless as possible, I'm always fascinated by the staff who run the place. It takes a lot of talent and know how to recruit such cheerful characters. This is something that most of the business owners don't have, having an awesome and friendly environment while simultaneously being able to run the place professionally. It makes you feel comfortable for being there (but not too comfortable to lose the sense of being in a Cafe/Bar) and confident to come back again.
It might sound exaggerated, because the beer is the same everywhere and Jameson is produced in Ireland, but these kind of original and nonfancy places are pieces of a puzzle that shapes the character of Vienna's 2nd district.
