★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ein schöner Ort für eine kleine , nicht so anspruchsvolle Wanderung. Manchmal geht es etwas steil bergauf. Es geht zur Porta Claudia und zum Kalvarienberg. Zwischendurch gibt es Bänke um die schöne Aussicht zu genießen. Es war zu unserer Zeit niemand auf dem Weg. Nicht überlaufen. Empfehlenswert.
 A nice place for a short, not so demanding hike. Sometimes it's a bit steep uphill. It goes to the Porta Claudia and the Kalvarienberg. In between there are benches to enjoy the beautiful view. Nobody was on the way in our time. Not overrun. Recommendable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome hike up the side of a mountain in Scharnitz. Old castle ruins along with a bunker. Very cool experience. Walked there from our Airbnb. About 30min. Worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good views towards Mittenwald (and you can climb even higher), but all the infostands are in German only.
The ruins themselves aren't that impressive -- they aren't from the Roman empire times even though latin-like name may suggest so.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our German hosts took us on this side trip in the hills overlooking Scharnitz. This was the gate that traders used when they came to festivals in town. For being almost 400 years old, it's in great shape.
