★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A young family with two very young children were literally shouted at for “blocking” the table and eating too slow. I never witnessed such a rude and disrespectful staff behavior. Will never return!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unpleasant ice cream and much worse service. My pregnant wife said it was inedible and she loves and makes ice cream.
Worst part was the angry lady that served us.
30 degree day in Vienna, and after we had ordered the too expensive ice cream, we sat down on the chairs outside. She comes out to yell at us that we aren't allowed to sit.
Terrible experience. Avoid at all costs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mean gelato is the best gelato! Yes the reviews are true and the lady at the counter is not pleasant. However the gelato is excellent, and for that reason I recommend you ignore the lack of nicities because the gelato is worth it. This is the best gelato shop we have found outside of Italy.
Perhaps if enough of us keep going here with smiles on our faces and are really nice despite the shopkeepers grouchiness she will finally break and let her inner nice person out. After a few visits we were able to get her to crack a smile so with the help of the Google community we may one day be able to say, nice gelato is the best gelato!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Genuinely the most terrible service I have ever seen. After a difficult process of trying to order our very overpriced ice cream we were shouted at for sitting on the chairs outside (worth noting we had spent over 20 euros and there were no other customers waiting to use the chairs instead). As others have said in their reviews, the lady's were ridiculously rude and our icecream tasted somewhat greasy. Honestly would not send my worst enemies here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the ABSOLUTE BEST ice cream place I have seen in Vienna, nay, all of Europe, European side of Russia and the United States of America. I have tried ice cream and gelato in countless places around the northern hemisphere and have not had the pleasure of tasting the quality and bliss of Eisgrotte anywhere. The best thing about this place is their stracciatella ice cream. I don't know how they do it but it is truly unparallel. I have been a loyal costumer for many years and would recommend this place to everyone and anyone 11/10. Stop by on a hot summer day, talk to the family who run the place and buy some amazing ice cream.
