Schade, dass die Wege über den Rötelstein nicht markiert sind, es lässt sich für Ambitionierte gut weiter Richtung Rote Wand wandern, guten Orientierungssinn vorausgesetzt Exciting rise and somehow exciting the cave entrance. Too bad that the paths over the Rötelstein are not marked, it can be well for Ambitious well towards red wall hiking, assuming good sense of direction

K	Karl Maderbacher on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ein herrlicher Rundwanderweg von Mixnitz zur Drachenhöhle weiter über den Röthelstein und wieder zurück zum Ausgangspunkt. Startpunkt ist der Drachenhöhlenparkplatz südlich vom Mixnitz bei den Tennisplätzen. Nach einigen hundert Metern geht’s gleich zur Sache. Kontinuierlich geht der gut markierte Weg recht steil Bergauf. Kurz vor der Höhle ist es ratsam die angebrachten Sicherungsketten zu Verwenden. Teilweise muss man sich auch mit den Händen am Fels sichern. Trittsicherheit ist hier gefragt. Der Zutritt zu 500 Meter tiefen Höhle ist verboten. Hauptgrund ist die Winterruhe der Fledermäuse nicht zu Stören. Rechts an der Höhle vorbei führt ein unmarkierter weg weiter zum Röthelstein. Hier gibt’s einige tiefe Einblicke ins Murtal. Seidelpast, Schneerosen und die gewöhnliche Küchenschelle zieren den Wegrand. Ein Highlight sich sicher die Steinböcke die einem recht nahe an sich heranlassen. Die Wildzaun Reste stammen noch von der Auswilderung dieser majestätischen Alpenbewohner. Über den Röthelstein (leider gibt’s kein Gipfelkreuz) geht’s weiter zur Bucheben Alm. Ab hier kann man wieder der Markierung zurück nach Mixnitz folgen. Mit 800 Höhenmetern (500 zur Drachenhöhle) und dreieinhalb bis 4 Stunden Gehzeit kann man die Runde schon als recht Anspruchsvoll bewerten. Trotzdem sehr Empfehlenswert. K@rl aus Miesenbach A wonderful circular hiking trail from Mixnitz to the Drachenhöhle, further over the Röthelstein and back to the starting point. The starting point is the Drachenhöhlen parking lot south of Mixnitz near the tennis courts. After a few hundred meters, things get straight to the point. The well-marked path goes steadily uphill. Shortly before the cave it is advisable to use the attached safety chains. Sometimes you have to secure yourself with your hands on the rock. Surefootedness is required here. Access to the 500 meter deep cave is prohibited. The main reason is not to disturb the hibernation of the bats. To the right of the cave, an unmarked path leads to the Röthelstein. Here are some deep insights into the Murtal. Seidelpaste, snow roses and the common pasque flower adorn the roadside. A highlight are definitely the ibexes that let you get very close. The remains of the wild fence originate from the release of these majestic alpine inhabitants. Over the Röthelstein (unfortunately there is no summit cross) continue to the Bucheben Alm. From here you can follow the markings back to Mixnitz. With an altitude difference of 800 meters (500 meters to the Drachenhöhle) and three and a half to 4 hours of walking, the round can be rated as quite demanding. Still very recommendable. G	Gregor Baumann on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Man darf ja nicht rein, deshalb nur hypothetisch eine Taschenlampe mitbringen und sehr vorsichtig gehen, ich denke mit in Höhlen kann es sehr rutschig sein! Der Eingangsbereich ist sehr groß und übersichtlich so dass man einen Blick rein wagen kann. Aber nicht rein gehen! Übrigens ist der Weg teilweise gar nicht so gut markiert...also von und zu der Höhle. One should not go in, so just bring a torch and go very carefully, I think with in caves it can be very slippery! The entrance area is very large and clear so that you can dare a look. But do not go in! Incidentally, the path is sometimes not so well marked ... so from and to the cave.
