Besonders schön wenn man oben wohnt ?
Especially nice if you live upstairs ?

At first glance, very nice and modern furnished (compared to other dorms ... * Vindobona *) but at the second glance a bit disappointing. In the kitchen utensils are missing, in the home is stolen and every additional offer (gym, sauna, etc ...) must be bought for expensive money (which students unfortunately do not own). A plus point are the parking spaces at the home, which are offered for a fair price.

The piace il good, rooms are comfortable and there IS a bath with shower for two People. There is a small fridge. I vive 4 stars because there are no WiFi access (you have to buy a router), also there are no dishes nor glasses. Also there are no blankets and pillows.

I spent 4 month there and I cannot complain. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the room is quite spacious and clean, the furniture is old and not pretty but functional and the bed is comfortable. I had my own room and shared small kitchen (without a stove but with a fridge) and bathroom with one girl. The common kitchen could be definitely cleaner but it is about the people you share it with. You can also use washing maschins which is payed or borrow a vacuum cleaner (if it is avaible). Overall, I was satisfied.

This review is about the entirety of Campus Brigittenau, not just about FG2 (Dr. Hertha Firnberg Heim). Living in these dorms is relatively cheap compared to other places in Vienna. You get your own room, and share a bathroom with another person. The rooms are actually decent, although the furniture in FG2 is somewhat dated. But that’s not a big deal. The real reason I only gave three stars in my review is the people, who live here. A lot of the residents aren’t even students in fact: they applied to university, got the room (you need to be a student for that), dropped out of uni, but are still living here. The reason? Well, the contract lasts for two years, and Wihast only checks with your school about your student status if you wish to prolong your contract after the initial two year period. Therefore, a significant amount of people residing in the dorms don’t do a whole lot with their lives aside from partying and yelling all day long. Now I don’t have anything in particular against partying, I too like to have fun from time to time, but I don’t think partying every other day until 4 AM is a lifestyle that is acceptable, when one lives together with hundreds of other students. Now about the common rooms: It’s incredibly hard to believe sometimes for instance just how messy the common kitchens can be. People leave their junk all over the place, make a huge mess, and most of the times don’t clean up after themselves. This is true for the whole of Campus Brigittenau. Haus Panorama (the main and biggest building) is probably the worst out of all the dorms. There are several people forbidden from entrance, and crimes aren’t rare either. Expect your Amazon package to be stolen if the delivery person leaves is on your doorstep, although this is a pretty minor misdemeanor on the Campus. However, because so many people live here, you can make friends easily. All in all, if you want a fairly acceptable place, that’s cheap, FG2, Haus Panorama, LM1, and the rest of the Campus are okay choices. Anyhow, if you can afford to spend just 50 to a 100 more euros on rent, and you can find someplace else to live, I would highly recommend that over living here. I’ve lived here for almost two years now, so I have quite a lot of experience with this place. I don’t hate the Campus, because I made many friends here, but the bottom line is, a majority of people here are alarming to say the least.
