★ ★ ★ ★ ★ St Anton as a ski resort is amazing and the week we were there in early April the snow was amazing and was combined with a good number of blue sky days.
The chalet is right at the end of St Anton and this suited us as a family with young children well as it was pretty quiet and with the bus stop right outside it was an easy route (and only 5mins) on the bus each day to get to ski-school/the slopes.
The Crystal chalet hosts were very welcoming and helped make my 8 year old son very welcome in a mostly adult-filled chalet.
The food was just about passable - the girls had tried but clearly they only had a budget for poor quality meat and everything was over-seasoned which made a couple of meals almost inedible. The wine was good given that it was clearly bought in by the bucket-load which was a nice surprise.
We had the ground floor apartment which was by far the nicest room in the chalet and perfect for us with 2 children. It was relatively clean but the shower drain was blocked and so the tray kept filling with water (but it was super powerful and hot which was great) and just a silly thing like the curtains not fitting the windows at all and having all different lengths within a pair just gave the air of a lack of care which was a shame.
Overall we had a good week but a slight upgrade in the quality of food/standard of cooking and a bit more care in the upkeep of the accommodation would have made it great.
