Campus Bräu - Wiedner Gürtel 1

One of the best burgers of my life. Shame for the service that is really unfriendly and not motivated. Do order the burger, you will not regret it.

The Campus Bräu is a great restaurant in the center of the newly built compound around the Main Railway Station (Hauptbahnhof), the former Südbahnhof. The whole area is full of skyscrapers, smaller and bigger ones, and the Campus Bräu right in the middle of these buildings, which remind more of an American city than of Vienna, as it is best known for. The patio is on a big square and as mentioned it is surrounded by skyscrapers. This place has great opening hours (till 02:00 am), the staff is friendly, and inside the Campus Bräu it’s quite colorful and is becoming even more interesting at the bathrooms, when it comes to the interior design. Very cool and chill place, liked the music a lot with great staff. It was kind of expensive though but understandable for the atmosphere.

The location is nice and the food was ok, but the service was incredibly poor. We ordered 2 hamburgers, which is no complicated food, and had to wait over 50 minutes. At first we thought maybe this is normal for Vienna standards and if there was a problem someone would eventually come to inform us why it is taking so long. But since absolutely no one came to our table and we were getting annoyed after waiting 30 minutes, we decided to take action and ask. After many attempts, a waiter finally came to us and said that there was a technical issue and our order wasn’t registered. Seriously? We sat there for half an hour and no one had wondered why we still had no food on our table? But anyways, as it was hot outside and we didn’t want to walk and find another restaurant, we decided to give it another chance and wait. It then took another 20 minutes till the food finally came, so we ended up waiting about 50 minutes for 2 overpriced hamburgers, which tasted ok, but nothing special. The little technical issue didn’t brother us so much, people make mistakes and that’s normal. What really was unacceptable was how the staff dealt with the problem. No one apologized not even once for the delay nor seemed to be bothered by the fact that the clients are unhappy with their service. One of the waiters even tried to justify the incident by saying “food simply takes a while to prepare”. But strangely enough, other guests, who had arrived later than us, received their food earlier than us! (also hamburger) Besides that, we all know the reason why the food came so late. Rather than lie, it would be nice if the staff would simply apologize and recognize that they made a mistake. But it instead of that, they simply ignored the fact that we were forgotten and had to wait 50 minutes for our food, which we were paying for. Let’s also not forget the fact they don’t even control if people have a vaccination certificate or not. Apparently, neither the health nor the satisfaction of the clients seems to matter for them. Very disrespectful. We are never eating there again.

Nice, relatively big place both outside and inside seating avail. Sodexo coupons gladly accepted, as well as credit cards. Own kind of brew plus others. Mixed food ranging from burger through pasta to grill - one will for sure find what to eat. Can be packed at evenings after words, despite being relatively big, so if you are bigger group, better to call - reservations are possible

Very nice and big restaurant with very good meals and outstanding offer of wheat beer, which you normally can't find easy, specially alcohol free wheat beer was great. I had beef tartar as a starter and it was awesome. Ribeye steak was good but can be even better, I would prefer less salt. Waitress was kind and helpful.
