★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stopped on at this place while driving around the lakes in the region. I was so happy I did! The service of this place was excellent - I do not speak German and the waiter was super nice and patient with me (he spoke English) and provided me a menu in English. I ordered the special they were offering as well as a glass of wine, and tea and a cookie for dessert.
The view of the lake from here is great! the atmosphere totally relaxing and the cafeteria/restaurant is next to the promenade so I can see how this place would be very popular in the warmer months.
I noticed a lot of people ordering ice cream desserts so they must be famous for that.
it was a great experience and between the service and the setting it would be a no brainer to go back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best lake view that there is in Gmunden... I have been coming hears regularly for over 10 years by now, since my childhood. Unfortunately the staff has degenerated severely, to the point where some are outright condescending and rude, specially at the entrance where the Corona rules are being checked by the staff, an older waiter purposefully acts suspicious and takes an extremly long time to check the Corona tests, purposefully annoying (or humiliating?) his guests. Such behaviour is deeply inappropriate, and unfortunately anyone coming here now risks getting this condescending and rude treatment.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a cute Cafe in the Center of Gmunden facing the waters. Gorgeous view although it was a bit foggy when I visited.
For the food, I had chicken schnitzel and spaghetti unfortunately I haven't took any photos but it was delish. The torte was a little different, don't get me wrong it was heaven in every bite.
Toilet was clean and well maintained
Unfortunately I left my scarf there and I haven't went back to ask since I was rushing to catch my train back to linz.
