Sie ist der bedeutendste Wehrbau des Trixnertals welches mehrere Burgen beheimatet. Ihre Geschichte reicht bis ins 9 Jahrhundert zurück. Nach einem Brand im Jahr 1790 wurde die bis dahin bewohnte Burg nicht mehr aufgebaut, sondern dem Verfall überlassen und verkam gänzlich über die Jahrhunderte. Leider ist ein Besichtigung der historisch äußerst interessanten und großen Burgruine fast unmöglich, zumal diese extrem einsturzgefährdet ist und auch ein Zugang durch großflächig angelegte Zaunanlagen verwehrt wird. Es bietet sich lediglich die Möglichkeit sich beschwerlich einen Weg durch dichtes Unterholz selbst zu bahnen um die Ruine zu erreichen. Wonderfully located on a steep hilltop former stately castle.
