Magnificent castle! Open from May to October on weekends. The prices are as follows: adults - 3 €, children under 15 - 1 €, family ticket - 7 €. The place is little-known, so there is no need to be afraid of large crowds of tourists. Parking is free, there is a restroom on site, and you can order drinks and snacks at the checkout. Also, at the checkout, a leaflet is issued with information about the castle, either in German or in English. Parts of the castle have survived from the 12th, 13th, 14th centuries. The residential part consists of a palais, in which you can see the armory and the knight's hall, and two towers, of which only one survived. It should house the Thayatal National Natural Park Museum and the Museum of Antique Radiograms; I watched the radio, but there was no mention of a word about the national park. I warn the squeamish: cleaning is rarely done, the windows are overgrown with dust, the rooms of the castle are strewn with dead insects, the dust has not been cleaned either, apparently, for a very long time. Those who are not embarrassed by this can go up to the observation deck and admire the surrounding forest - part of the aforementioned nature reserve. Below there is a charming river in which real crayfish live and there is even a warning that fishing is prohibited. The air is clean, the views are the most beautiful, so after visiting the castle, I recommend to walk a little along the riverbed and enjoy the beauty and rare cyclones in Russia.
