Bereits Anfang des 14. Jahrhunderts dürfte die Burg jedoch dem Verfall preisgegeben worden sein. Dank umfangreicher und vorbildlicher Sanierungsarbeiten zeigt sich die Ruine heute gepflegt und bietet einen phantastischen Ausblick. Ein lohnendes Ziel für eine Wanderung. Sie ist überschaubar, gut zu erreichen (wenn man gut zu Fuß ist, dann kann man sie in einer kleinen Tagestour als Zwischen-Station für eine kleine Stärkung sehr gut nutzen) und nicht überlaufen. Leider waren wir dieses Jahr etwas spät dran und die schönen Rosen wurden bereits zugeschnitten (übrigens: saubere Arbeit. Die werden nächstes Jahr wieder schön wachsen können), aber die Stimmung im Herbst ist auch so schön. Mit Blick auf die Bamsteine genossen wir unsere Rast. Immer wieder einen Abstecher wert. A beautiful ruin. It is manageable, easy to reach (if you can walk well, then you can use it very well in a small day tour as a stopover for a little refreshment) and not overcrowded. Unfortunately we were a bit late this year and the beautiful roses have already been cut (by the way: clean work. They will be able to grow again next year), but the mood in autumn is also so beautiful. We enjoyed our rest with a view of the Bamsteine. Always worth a detour.
