Angeblich sollen die Steine des Ansitzes zum Bau der 1522 errichteten Friedhofskapelle von Bischofshofen verwendet worden sein. Die heute sichtbaren Mauerreste wurden 1982 im Auftrag der Marktgemeinde Bischofshofen freigelegt und konserviert. Zu Fuß erreicht man sie entweder über die Wasserfallstiege mit 401 Stufen oder über einen steilen Pfad auf der Ost-Seite. Von er Ruine aus genießte man einen phantastischen Ausblick auf Bischofshofen und das Tennengebirge. Parkt am besten im Parkhaus Karo (2h kostenlos) und lauft dann den Weg durch die Fußgängerzone zum Wasserfall und zur Ruine. Wir haben die Skisprungschanze noch angeschaut und sind dann über den Barfußaktivpfad die 355 Treppenstufen zum Wasserfall hinauf gestiegen. Sehr angenehm zum Laufen, auch mit etwas schmerzenden Waden ;-). Oben hat man eine schöne Aussicht und kommt über Stock und Steine auch direkt zur Ruine. Hier wird alles mit Schildern erklärt und ist schon recht imposant, auch wenn die Ruine nicht mehr wirklich groß ist. Den Rückweg kann man entweder wieder am Wasserfall entlang gehen, oder auf dem Waldweg rechts von der Ruine entlang nach unten. Der Weg ist sehr leicht zu laufen. War auf alle Fälle sehr sehenswert! We looked at the ski jump and then climbed the 355 steps to the waterfall via the barefoot active path. Very comfortable to run, even with a little sore calves ;-). At the top you have a beautiful view and you can get directly to the ruin via stick and stone. Here everything is explained with signs and is quite impressive, even if the ruin is no longer really big. The way back you can either go back along the waterfall or on the forest path to the right of the ruin down. The path is very easy to walk. It was definitely worth seeing!

Leicht zu erreichen: Entweder man besteigt die steilen Stiegen neben dem Wasserfall oder man nimmt den leichteren Weg durch den Wasserfall. Der Aufstieg sollte nicht länger als eine Dreiviertelstunde dauern. Wenn man schon viele andere Ruinen gesehen hat, wird man hier enttäuscht sein, da fast keine Überreste mehr vorhanden sind. Der Eintritt ist zwar kostenlos, viel sieht man aber trotzdem nicht. Außerdem gibt es keine Sitzbänke. Die Aussicht ist bei der Ruine von Bäumen verdeckt. Es lohnt sich, die Ruine zu besuchen, wenn man gerade am Berg wandert, aber ein Aufstieg nur wegen ihr lohnt sich nicht wirklich. Ruin on the mountain in Bischofshofen. C	Claudia Hageman on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ruïne viel wat tegen maar de waterval was zeer zeker de moeite waard. Omhoog met de trap en omlaag met het bospad. Natuurlijk ook nog gegeten on top of the mountain. Ruin was a bit disappointing but the waterfall was definitely worth it. Up with the stairs and down with the forest path. Of course also eaten on top of the mountain.
