Der Ausblick ist super und um den Ort ziehen sich lange Wanderwege die durch Wälder und über Wiesen gehen. Für Wanderer mit Hunden ideal. Nach Passau sind es 20 Kilometer. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in Vichtenstein begrenzt bis gar nicht vorhanden. Burg ist in Privatbesitz und leider nicht begehbar. Um die Burg kann man aber teilweise Wandern. Daher nur drei Sterne. Vichtenstein in Upper Austria is a small place high above the Danube. The view is great and around the place there are long hiking trails that go through forests and over meadows. Ideal for hikers with dogs. It is 20 kilometers to Passau. There are limited or no shopping opportunities in Vichtenstein. The castle is privately owned and unfortunately not accessible. However, you can partially hike around the castle. Hence only three stars.

Dadurch wurde der Burgbereich durch die Jahrhunderte des Öfteren umgebaut und renoviert. The castle is located above the right bank of the Danube on the mountain and is privately owned.
