★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Every year when I come to Ellmau, I do a night run every night from the village, up the mountain to the Brenner, dive in, grab a Schnapps and water and run back down. Staff are friendly, warm and quick to get you your 'usual' if you have one. They're keen to engage you in chat and their English is excellent, which is good, my German is rubbish!
The atmosphere is always top notch and the prices are very competitive considering its location.
They also seem to have moved the smoking outside (people smoking indoors last year) which is a massive thumbs up in the somewhat behind the times Austria in that regards.
Pop in and try it, the views are stunning too. You might even spot me running one day, all in red with a backpack. Feel free to buy me a drink. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good spot for a hot drink in winterseason and a cold drink in summerseason. A card full of alcohol of drinks makes the menu complete. Not so many vegetarian or vegan options, which is in 2020 a bit crazy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly staff and a good variety of food and drink. Been there a few times and have never been disappointed! Try the "Kaiser Schmarrn", it's delicious! Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner, they are almost always happy to welcome you!
The apartments are great, if you manage to get a booking!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location with splendid view over the valley, great also to watch sunset. Talking a walk up the mountain via the white chappel or just following the road is a good preparation for a nice meal & drinks. The menu is quite nice with a large variety of different dishes. Certainly a great place to visit and spend some time. If walking isn't your preferred way to go up, you can also take the car/taxi
