Best Western Plus Amedia Art Salzburg

There are a lot of mixed reviews on this site, so I'm going to add my own. I spent six nights there last week. The room was pretty good, breakfasts were good. Service was mixed. The desk staff shares duties at the bar and they are inconsistent. If you get great service you will have it all night, but if service is bad, just leave and go somewhere else. Inconsistent training apparently. Also it is not near the train station. It is a 2 km walk, and about 1.5 km from the old city. You will do lots of walking.

While the Hotel was perfectly comfortable and the price was an absolute bargain, I must say I am somewhat disappointed with my experience. This Hotel did not feel like a Best Western, much less like a Best Western Plus with Four Star Rating. I feel like COVID is making businesses, and Hotels specially, to become lazy and laid back; blaming everything on COVID. There is absolutely no reason to not offer room cleaning, even during a Pandemic, if done safely, of course Next problem was coffee machine. I am used to having one in my room, specially when Booking.com, Google Hotels AND the official website for the Hotel advertised having one in each room. Apparently COVID is a good enough reason to not do that either. Safety box did not work properly, but was repaired promptly, if a day too late. If all that would not suffice, my room did not even have the basic toiletries that a cheap hostel offers, no less what a “spa, 4 star hotel” should give you. I also have to add, that the Hotel staff was really friendly and ready to help and they are the only reason why this review is still somewhat “favorable”. Most of the aforementioned Problems were more or less fixed by the reception team (Twice room cleaning for a 5 night stay/ complementary coffee in the reception/couple of toiletries were given to me). As a long time Best Western and Plaza Hotels customer, specially in Latin America and the U.S. I have to say that I am utterly disappointed and were the price not been so cheap, the hotel would not earn more than one Star.

At first this hotel seemed great. The check in staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had great amenities, though not perhaps perfectly clean, location was ok but not great to get to downtown. However my entire experince here was ruined when my room card broke, quite by accident. The woman at the front desk was absolutely the most rude person I have ever interacted with in my entire life. She treated me as though I had terribly inconvenienced her because I asked her to do a very quick and easy task that im sure hotel staff have to do all the time. Don't stay here if you like being treated like a human.

Positives: Friendly and helpful reception staff. Safe and Fridge in room. Complimentary luggage storage on checkout day. Large shopping center directly opposite the hotel, Bauhaus and McDonald's both about 5 minutes walking distance. Two bus lines (2, 4) into the city center. Bus line 10 to Europark shopping mall. Negatives: Hotel is hard to find when you alight from the bus stop. It is situated around a corner of a main road and there are not any signs leading tourists to the front entrance (see photo). Room does not have any tea/coffee making facilities. Instead, one has to ask for hot water at the front desk. Hotel is situated on a side road. One side of the hotel faces the main road, the other faces a shopping center. If you get a room facing the main road, it will be noisy. Unreliable Wi-Fi. It worked on two of my devices but not on a third. Breakfast costs €15. Opt to buy or eat breakfast in the shopping center instead. Unreliable air-conditioning. On our final evening, it did not switch on at all and we had to open the windows instead. Luckily, it was a rainy night and the outside air was very cool. Fridge was not cleaned! Summary: It's sad to say this but the quality of the hotel facilities reminded me of Ibis Budget. We both agreed that the star rating should be a 1 or 2 instead of 4. It seems that the hotel belongs to an Austrian hospitality company called "Amedia Hotels" which has acquired the Best Western franchise label. Special mention to Veronika and Federico for their kind and pleasant service at the front desk :)

I used the hotel as a stopover during a travel. Yes, the parking places are limited both, outside and the internal parking, however the night personnel gave me a solution and that's what really matters. Room filled out my expectations, clean, nice bed, the disposition of bathroom was not conventional but in any case functional. Room had a business fridge. I did not have any breakfast at the hotel, no opinion about that. They have a bending machine in the reception, also a bar I think it works until midnight and some places to sit down and chill. Overall nice experience. Great staff.

Reception night staff is racist. I paid the city tax, and he gave me a bunch of change in 1cent and 2cent coins. And he gave me a room that was not cleaned and not organized. The reason I didn't give it the lowest score was because the reception staff were so friendly when I checked out.

The hotel is just too perfect, the staff are really nice, the hotel is near the bus station, the train station and 25 minutes walk from the center or salzburg hpf, the room is big the bathroom not so much but it is the normal in Europe , it is actually bigger than most and the price was great

The accommodations were very nice. The double bed was actually a double bed [not two singles pushed together] and it had a decent mattress. The breakfast food was very good [buffet] and the staff was friendly. No dining other than breakfast, but they do have a bar.
