The walk up here from Jungs is quite a heavy trip but absolutely worth it. The place is also reachable by car but the road is rough and really only for 4x4's. Recommendable: Gulash soup with wörstl. There is also room to sleep. Very lovely place! A must see :)
G	Glenda Mendieta on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed 3 days in a hunting cabin. Decoration was accordingly and definitively not my taste but the cabin had everything one needs to cook. I would recommend to change the frying pans, they are horrible. Trails are well marked and the view is OK. If you like cows you will like the surroundings. The cows wear bells and roam around the cabin very early and at night, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Location wise is very close to a small town with a supermarket and the taxi is about 30 eur but you can share it with up to 8 people (I think). I didn't try the restaurant.

S	Stephen Nock on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We dined at Höllensteinhütte as 6 friends for our "night out" during a weeklong stay in the Zillertal area. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all wonderful! We took a taxi up from the valley and were immediately and especially delighted by Dani's excellent wine recommendations and friendly personality. A friendly waitstaff really makes a restaurant stand out while traveling. The restaurant is set inside a cozy wood cabin, justifying its Hütte naming. As a treat - after dessert ;) - to top off a day full of winter fun (skiing on the Hintertux glacier, a bit of apres ski, savory and sweet eats), we paid the small fee to enjoy a friendly race with toboggans back to town. The local road is closed after 8 pm, allowing diners the freedom of sledding downhill. We'd love to experience the Höllensteinhütte again, in winter, in summer, perhaps even staying in the hotel, and especially if we could have Dani's great service again. 5-stars are well-deserved for her.
