Sowohl im Sommer als auch im Winter märchenhaft. Das ist wohl einer der schönsten Orte um am See zu verweilen. The whole lake is just a wonderful place to relax. The circular route around the lake offers an overwhelming panorama of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains. Fairytale in both summer and winter. This is probably one of the most beautiful places to stay at the lake.

Hier ist ein kleiner Tipp: Lauft/wandert entgegen zum Uhrzeigersinn. Also über das Chalet Hinterstein, wo Ihr gut rasten könnt. Im Südosten des Hintersteiner Sees sind ein paar kleine Anstiege und schon aus Fragen der Motivation (vor allem bei Kindern...) solltet Ihr die Anstiege an den Schluß Eurer Tour legen. Die Tour selbst ist einfach unvergesslich... If you want to run the loop around the Hintersteiner See: The tour is about 6 km long and easy to manage even with children. Here's a little tip: run / hike counterclockwise. So via the Chalet Hinterstein, where you can rest well. In the south-east of the Hintersteiner See there are a few small climbs and if you have questions of motivation (especially with children ...) you should put the climbs at the end of your tour. The tour itself is simply unforgettable ...
