A XV. sz. második feléig bencés apátság működött itt, majd a Szt. György lovagrendé lett.
A templom és a kerengő gyönyörű román kori részleteket tár elénk.
A lovagrend idején kapta a gótikus mennyezetet. Utánuk a jezsuitáké az épületegyüttes, barokk átépítés és templombelső kialakítása kapcsolódik hozzájuk.
Megemlítendő a kolostorudvarban az 1000 éves hársfa is.
Millstatt am See - located on the shores of a lake derived from the name of the town. The prefix "mil" quotes 1000 columns of Roman-era constructions.
A XV. s. until the second half of the 19th century, a Benedictine abbey operated here, and then St. George became a knighthood.
The church and the bell tower reveal beautiful Romanesque details.
It was given the Gothic ceiling during the Knights' Order. After them, the Jesuits are connected with the building complex, baroque reconstruction and church interior design.
The 1000-year-old linden tree in the monastery yard should also be mentioned.
