★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pros: Clean rooms, which were recently renovated. Has a restaurant with OK food.
Cons: No air condition, gets hot in the summer. Some waiters have limited understanding of English.
At this point I would have rated them three stars. But:
The receptionist declined our late check-out ("we are full, sorry"). Nothing new with that. But at the time we were leaving he "we could have extended your stay for the whole day but you rated us 3 stars - so we didn't".
Because of outright lying to us, I'm giving them two stars.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautifully clean and comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities in the rooms (swim towels, bathrobes, slippers). Helpful and friendly staff, even though we arrived with no reservation at a very late hour.
All future lodging will be measured against the hospitality of the Alpenhotel... and I fear none will measure up
