PS: Die Griesnockerlsuppe auf dem Bild hat definitiv die größten Griesnockerl die ich je gesehen hab ? The tavern offers a beautiful view of the valley, the food tastes good and thanks to a clear menu you know what to take :) gladly again! PS: The semolina dumpling soup in the picture definitely has the biggest semolina dumplings I have ever seen ?

Kurz und gut nicht zu empfehlen kein Vergleich zu früher.P.S. Rene der Pächter schlecht organisiert. 2 mal versucht immer fadenscheinige Ausreden als Antwort. Es ist besser eine gute Jause mitzunehmen. Mit einen Wort große Enttäuschung trotz wunderbarer Lage. Vielleicht sollte sich der Verpächter mal umhören. Reservation didn't work (for the second time) Food: long waiting time 1 hour, Kaspressknödel soup tasteless, Wienerschnitzel with fries fries cold carelessly prepared breading not tasty, Kas dumplings greasy without salad. In short, not recommended, no comparison to the past.P.S. Rene the tenant poorly organized. Tried 2 times always flimsy excuses in response. It is better to take a good snack with you. In a word, big disappointment despite the wonderful location. Maybe the landlord should ask around.

"Großarl", das ist schon das entscheidende Stichwort, denn von dort kommt die gesamte Brettljause: Speck, Hartwürste, Kaswurst, Kas und ein wunderbares würziges Schwarzbrot. Dass aber sogar das süffige, naturtrübe Bier aus dem Alpental stammt, hat mich sehr erstaunt. Die Portionen sind reichlich, die Preise moderat, die Bedienung ist freundlich und die Aussicht auf den Untersberg und den Hochstaufen atemberaubend schön. A spontaneous excursion past the closed Erentrudisalm to the Fageralm, which has been run by young innkeepers from the Grossarltal since May 2021. "Grossarl", that's the key word, because that's where the entire snack comes from: bacon, hard sausages, cheese sausage, cheese and a wonderfully spicy black bread. But I was astonished that even the drinkable, naturally cloudy beer comes from the Alpine valley. The portions are plentiful, the prices moderate, the service is friendly and the view of the Untersberg and Hochstaufen is breathtakingly beautiful.

My partner's family has been visiting here since the early 60s, and it hasn't changed a bit (and this is a good thing!) Really good local food, stunning views, very friendly folks who work there, and one heck of a cute dog. Visiting from England on a roadtrip.
