★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very bad service, especially for foreigners, we were waiting almost hour when all locals got the food sooner. Food was very good but we felt very ignored... When they dont want to have there tourists they should write it somewhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing service. Delicious food. The eggs bennie… perfection just a hint of lemon lots of cream.
Only bad side is the street seating. Kinda smells like a public urinal. Just go inside

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was hard for us to find a seat at this place. Bummed that they didn’t have freshly pressed Orange Juice even though they mainly serve breakfast and brunch. The vibe was nice and the food was good. For the price, it’s a really nice place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food was very bad--salty, burnt, and had egg shells in it. When we asked politely for a discount (not even a refund) the Manager chuckled and said that we should have asked at the beginning, suggesting that we ate too much of the food to be eligible for a discount (see photo attached of the English Breakfast of which less than a third was eaten).
I wouldn't usually write a review, but I wanted to share the feedback about the food because the manager didn't care to ask what exactly made us unsatisfied with the quality of our meal. She was, instead, quick to accuse of us trying to comp a free meal: "next time ask when you first get your dish not when you're paying".
I wanted to like the food--we we're catching a 4 hour train shortly after--but it was so horrible that we had to go to another restaurant (Gold Egg -- highly recommend!!). The bacon left a film of oil over the entire dish which was composed of beans in a spicy chili sauce, burnt eggs, two slices of tomato, and two boiled hot dogs.
Unfortunately the manager does not seem to care about the quality of their food nor the opinions of the patrons. This can be an effecient business model if you are located next to the train station where you are guaranteed a high turn over on new customers.
However, it is unfortunate that our first visit to this city ended with this negative experience. Coming from the Czech Republic, where service norms are notoriously below average, we were thrilled to have had such amazing experiences at all the restaurants we visited during our weekend stay, that is, of course, besides the 15 Sweet Minutes Cafe.
This dichotomy has definitely raised questions for us:
- to what extent is the customer service at weekend brunch restaurants influenced by it's distance to mass transit areas?
- why would you put chili beans in an English Breakfast? And is this a joke?
- is there a connection between positively receiving customer feedback on a consumer experience and the languages between interlocuteurs?
