N	Nico B on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice but not overwhelming: we had dinner with our guests. The food was nicely prepared but not totally convincing for the prices charged. The service seemed partly friendly but overall stressed and it was partly unclear who was responsible for us. The location itself was great. Cosy place at spittelberg with its nice and small Christmas market. Our guests liked it. Facit: great location, food was ok but service needs to be improved.

S	Stas Dreiling on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great place to try Austrian food. We had Schnitzel, Tafelspitz and a garlic soup. All three were really good in quality and taste. Service was quick and everyone was friendly and helpful.

The staff kind of reminds me of a sailing crew, with the owner acting as a surly captain, barking at visitors as they head down the wrong stairwell in search of a bathroom and deciding on his terms when we shall and shall not be served, but only in the most charming way possible (it adds to the old timey ambiance somehow). If you visit in December, starting at the Christmas Market and finishing here once you get too cold to go on makes for a perfect evening.
l	lisa hubball on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We chose the restaurant as it was a short walk from our hotel and we had just arrived in Vienna so wanted somewhere traditional and easy to find. This place certainly ticked the boxes! We were warmly welcomed. The decor was cosy and old world. The beef tartare and pumpkin soup fir appetizers were well presented and tasty. We opted for the schnitzel for main. Very substantial portions! Great choice of wine and local spirits. David our waiter was very knowledgeable and took time to explain the history of the building. Definitely recommend this restaurant for a traditional hearty Viennese meal.
