We have been travelling to Austria for 50 years and this was our first disappointment. First they invited everyone to a "sweet corner" between 3 and 5 pm. We, naturally thought it was a cosy afternoon tea, but tea and coffee was not included... We had half board and invited our friend for dinner one night, but we were not allowed to swap it for the next evening when we were invited to their hotel, so we had to pay 70 € for inviting them... At night we painfully found out that there was no aircondition in this four star hotel... The owners mingled with some German speaking guests at night but were not to be seen at breakfast... Unfortunately we can not recommend this hotel for that price Kaprun on July 20 2015

This is one of the best if not the best hotel in Kaprun. Rooms are spacious and have beutiful view to the mountains. Chef serves delicious food which which expect from a Michelin star restaurant. The bus stop is located right by the hotel.

Worst Wellness Hotel EVER! I don't know where to start. They are called 4 star Superior (means between 4 and 5 stars) and this is definitely not reflected. As we arrived they did not even ask to help us with our luggage or offer us a trolley. Nor did they show us our room or anything. They gave us our keycards and that was it. I could not even give them 3 stars for their service and limited wellness area. Really disappointing start already. The rooms are terrible. The beds are as soft as hot butter. When you lay down you shoulders are up and you back is all the way down to the floor (My weight is average). You wake up with neck, back and shoulder pain. The rooms are extremely loud. I could hear my neighbours bathroom every single day and the sounds from outside were also audible. The bathroom, oh god its bad. You don't even get a shower, you get a bathtub to shower in. I mean this is a 4 star wellness hotel. You would expect at least an okay bathroom. NO SHOWER and the bathroom is really small, you have only gotten enough space to place 1 toothbrush. I did not have a single night in which I was able to sleep through and wake up without back pain. Next up is the wellness area. I must say I did not use it much but as I used it, I was really disappointing. The pool is miniature sized. For a wellness hotel I expected something bigger and better. Additionally the water is really cold, which did not make my experience any better. The steam bath and Sauna, I cannot comment about the quality since I only looked at them, but they were tiny. Max of 3 people in one and then they were already packed full. The fitness room... I don't know what to say, I guess its fine but definitely not up to modern day standards and the room in general was really uncomfortable. You would not want to stay in there for more than 5 minutes. Breakfast is fine. Very ver very limited. 3 Bread types and 3 different types of cheese. You have a wider and better range of foods in any 3 star hotel. There really is not much to comment about the breakfast other than disappointing. Not much to offer. Dinner was good. There are two soups to choose from everyday, 3 main courses and 2 deserts. You chose your dinner during breakfast. I was pleased with the dinner other than the sizes of the portions. The main course was really really small and I had to eat dinner across the street at a pizzeria, but other wise it was good. I cannot recommend this Hotel at all. The worst this was the rooms. They were old and you could not sleep in these beds. The wellness side of things was very limited for being a wellness hotel. What made this hotel stand out was that you did not feel welcome and home, like you do in good hotels. There was not soul to it. The nicest people in the hotel were the two waiters. They were very charismatic but sadly the hotel was not. Not even the owner of the hotel introduced him self. To sum it up, I was just disappointed.

I really liked my stay here and all in all, it is a great hotel. The wellness area is super relaxing and the water beds in the silent room are amazingly comfortable! There were just two little things that one might need to consider before coming here: 1. The only lounge area is the bar; which opens only after a certain time of the day (usually 3pm) and it is rather small and not cosy. 2. In my room, I found several silverfish (picture attached). Even though they are harmless, it is not really something I enjoy having in my room. Anyway, overall I liked it but I'm not sure if I'd come back here again in the future.

The positive: -good view -alright reception The negative: - bathroom is very tiny - wifi isn't that good - the cleaner has no manners and she's very rude - the breakfast doesn't have that much of a variety Conclusion: It's not worth the price. There are many better hotels in the area with a much reasonable price and an amazing service. Update: - regarding the housekeeper issue, If you consider pushing the door open as strong as you can in your guest's room to check it is very nice than you should re-consider it because I'm 100% sure that no hotel guest would like the door to be slammed on their face. -regarding other issues like the small bathroom and the slow wifi, That is my own opinion on those comparing it to other experiences I've had. -If you didn't want to welcome a family of 6 in what you consider a 'family room' you could've refused our stay and we would've been more than happy.

Fabulous hotel with really great staff, especially Kurt in the restaurant who was both funny and 100% accurate with his weather predictions. We stayed for a week in March, had a room on the 3rd floor at the back over looking the nursery slope, and loved our stay. The room was clean and tidy and well looked after, and the balcony was a great place to sit when the sun was out. Food was first class every night, and although there wasn't a huge choice we never struggled to find something we enjoyed (we're vegetarian). Two very minor disappointment - the towels were like cardboard (although the dressing gowns were lovely) and despite having a brand new TV we were told that we couldn't connect an ipad to watch a film (although the TV had the capability). But... Very minor issues in an others wise fabulous stay.

Comfortable, nice and most of all: super friendly staff that made our stay both special and convenient. The rooms are nice and the spa area is surprisingly large and comfortable.

Friendly family owned hotel mixing traditional with contemporary styles. Very comfortable beds, excellent food and conveniently positioned for ski buses.
