★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you a look for a quiet place and a little bit of tranquillity, then the Weißensee is a good destination.
Some reasons for that: Its location is a little bit offside of the highway. There is also no road which runs around the whole sea but only parts of it. It is also located 900m above sea level. The Weißensee is not so popular compared to the Wörthersee and does not attract the typical "party people".
Worth a visit. Other interesting places in the neighboring area are the Großglockner (highest mountain of Austria), Lienz, and the Millstätter See with the Millstatt Abbey.
