D	Dr. Dr. Immanuel Fruhmann on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Here at this Buschenschank (traditional Austrian wine tavern) 30 minutes south of Graz you are located right in the middle of the famous Styrian Tuscany, named after its similarity with the Italian Tuscany surrounding Firenze (Florence). Here in the Styrian Tuscany you also have this poplars and rolling hills and this mild Italian climate, due to the vicinity of Graz and its surroundings in the south to the Adria. The area of Graz is located south of the Alps and is participating at the Italian, Slovenian and Croatian weather, for which large parts of Austria is envying Graz and southern Styria. We had a delicious Brettljause, a traditional homemade Austrian farmer’s plate with ham, bacon, onions, peppers, pumpkin seed spread, liver spread, sausage, cheese, together with a delicious traditional beetle bean salad with pumpkin seed oil, radish and onions. For the drinks we chose homemade elderberry juices. The staff of the Buschenschank Schauer is very nice. Most of the staff are members of the Schauer family. E	Eva S. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely place in an idyllic setting surrounded by vineyards, offering traditional hearty food like "Brettljause". Highly recommend the feta dish and the warm apple cake.
H	Helene on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location in the mountains with comfortable, clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast is generous and tasty, with a good choice. There is a good variety of meals in the Buschenschank, including plenty of regional specialities - well worth trying even if they're unfamiliar. I rather enjoyed exploring the different options. There was also a very interesting vineyard tour and tasting of some fascinating wines, with plenty of opportunity to discuss the many flavours that can be extracted from grapes. From seeing maybe two or three Austrian wines here in England to having an almost bewildering variety was quite a shock! If you want somewhere very quiet and relaxing, where the loudest things are the crickets, this is the place for you. Thoroughly recommended.

Food is excellent with proper priced and fantastic tasting white wines. Embedded in a beautiful landscape within the highest vineyard region of Europe. Nice routes for wandering. Rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is rich and various. Service is very friendly. Locally manufactured wines can be bought directly with a discount. Recommended.
