M	Mariela H. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Der Wasserturm wurde im Auftrag des Stadtkammeramtes 1577 von dem Maurermeister Wolfgang Khranlachner erbaut. Im Inneren des Turmes befanden sich ein Hebewerk und ein Wasserbehälter, von welchem das aus dem Mühlbach geschöpfte Wasser durch Rohrleitungen zu einzelnen Bürgerhäusern und den beiden Stadtbrunnen auf dem Stadtplatz geleitet wurde. Der Sage nach sollen die Wasserräder durch Inhaftierte betrieben worden sein. The water tower was built in 1577 by the master mason Wolfgang Khranlachner on behalf of the City Chamber Office. Inside the tower there was a lift and a water tank, from which the water drawn from the Mühlbach was led through pipes to individual town houses and the two town fountains on the town square. According to legend, the water wheels are said to have been operated by prisoners.
