★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Der Wartberg ist der höchste Punkt der Gemeinde Großkrut. Die Seehöhe beträgt 235 Meter. Der Aussichtsturm ist 8 Meter hoch. Darauf hat man bei guter Sicht, Eine weite Sicht nach allen Richtungen. Die Umgebung ist größtenteils mit Weingärten bepflanzt. Der Turm wurde ursprünglich zur Frostabwehr in den Weingärten errichtet. Auf dem Turm wurde im Frühjahr Ausschau gehalten wenn Spätfröste im Frühjahr beim Austrieb drohten. Die Feuerwehr wurde dann zur Frostwehr.

The Wartberg is the highest point in the Großkrut community. The altitude is 235 meters. The lookout tower is 8 meters high. You have a good view of it, a wide view in all directions. The area is largely planted with vineyards. The tower was originally built to prevent frost in the vineyards. A lookout was made on the tower in spring when late frosts threatened to sprout in spring. The fire department then became a frost service.
