★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sehr nett auf der überdachten Terrasse direkt über dem Teich mit vielen Fischen und Enten. Wirklich sehr naturnah. Leider gibt's am Wochenende keine Jausengerichte, obwohl das aber nirgends vermerkt wird. Wir kamen nämlich speziell wegen der Jause. Schade! Aber wir kommen trotzdem wieder - wegen der Fische (diese muss man unbedingt mit dem angebotenen Fischfutter füttern! Das Herabfallen der Münze lässt die Enten richtig munter werden. Unbedingt die Kamera bereithalten.), der Enten und des Esels!
Very nice on the covered terrace directly above the pond with lots of fish and ducks. Really very close to nature. Unfortunately there are no snacks on the weekend, although this is nowhere noted. We came specifically for the snack. Pity! But we'll be back anyway - because of the fish (you have to feed them with the fish food on offer! The falling of the coin makes the ducks really perky. Make sure to have the camera ready.), The ducks and the donkey!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Der Wirt ist super nett und hat extra für uns den Kamin eingeheizt, das war richtig gemütlich. Uriges Lokal mit sehr guter Jause! Die Topfenknödel mit Beerensoße waren ein Traum. Kann man weiterempfehlen.
The landlord is super nice and heated the fireplace especially for us, it was really cozy. Quaint restaurant with a very good snack! The curd dumplings with berry sauce were a dream. Can you recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gutes Essen bei Kaminfeuer und sehr netter Chef. - Man fühlt sich willkommen. Selbst im Winter sind die anwesenden Tiere wie Ponys, Esel, Hasen, Enten, ein Pfau und der verschmuste Haushund Polly ein Magnet für Kinder. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
Good food by the open fire and a very nice boss. - You feel welcome. Even in winter, the animals present such as ponies, donkeys, rabbits, ducks, a peacock and the cuddly house dog Polly are a magnet for children. We would love to come back.

Wer hier, so wie wir, Hüttenschmankerl erwartet, wird mit einem fünfsterne Essen von einem Spitzenkoch belohnt: Regionale Produkte, raffiniert zubereitet. Die lievevolle, gute Zubereitung schmeckt ausgezeichnet. Die Preise sind für das hohe Level das hier geboten wird im unteren Bereich angesiedelt. Toll was ein Familienbetrieb alles leisten kann. Es zahlt sich nicht nur wegen dem ausgezeichneten Essen aus hier zu verweilen, sondern auch wegen den Tieren, die gefüttert, gestreichelt und einfach lieb gehabt werden können. Wer in der Steiermark nach traditionellem Essen auf höchstem Level zu moderaten Preisen sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Ausgezeichnete Weine und landhausmäßig dekorrierte Räume sowie ein Service das keinen Wunsch offen lässt runden das Angebot ab.
The Waldschenke is hidden on a hill, surrounded by animals and a lake. Anyone who, like us, expects hut delicacies will be rewarded with a five-star meal from a top chef: regional products, cleverly prepared. The loving, good preparation tastes excellent. The prices are in the lower range for the high level that is offered here. It's amazing what a family business can do. It is not only worth staying here for the excellent food, but also for the animals that can be fed, petted and simply loved. Anyone looking for traditional Styrian food at the highest level at moderate prices has come to the right place. Excellent wines and rooms decorated like a country house as well as a service that leaves nothing to be desired round off the offer.
