Worth visiting and great food !!

Simply Amazing, amazing views, hospitality and atmosphere

The most wonderful weekend retreat. Beautiful and historic, delicious food, warm hospitality and of course, the great outdoors all around.

Nice place, has a small playground for kids, soups and standard austrian food like schnitzel mit pommes. I think this place could be quite cozy in wintertime. You cam either walk, go by the sightseeing tractor train or drive here by car.

Everyone needs to know about this place!! The location is absolutely stunning and not overly crowded. The monastery and the mountains provide a serene and spiritual atmosphere. My wife and I left at 4am to reach the peak at Serles for sunrise. This is a must-do for nature enthusiasts. when we reached the bottom, we were rejuvenated by excellent beer, coffee and a large, delicious authentic meal with excellent service and fair prices. The restaurant was very clean and to top it all off, we had the best strudel of the entire trip. Highly recommended!

Fabulous lunch place - and a total insider tip, not only for hikers of the nearby mountains. We stopped over for lunch, travelling by car from Verona to Munich. Easy side trip off the Brenner highway and a great experience of food and service in a picture postcard alpine location.

Fantastic place! So remote and calm, just what we needed. The owners, restaurant staff (many of them) and house keeping ladies are very kind. The rooms are basic, clean, daily kept and generally just what you expect from a hotel in a former monestary (very nice organic bathroom soaps and lotion). There is an active church for whoever is interested. Breakfast is local, homemade and very tasty. Food is available throughout the day and our dinner was different and delicious each evening (fully adapted to vegetarians) . Restaurant (main hall, secondary and a beautiful hunters hut) was usually full and lively, which felt really nice. The hotel sets in a remote location, 1640 metres high, and more than 1000 meters higher than the valley it sits above. Though access is very easy with the car, even in winter (might not be during a snow blizzard). The scenery around us breathtaking, just pure and majestic nature, with mountain peaks all around. There are many trails in summer. As for winter, not too many, but it's still possible and a wonderful experience to hike (even higher) in snow. Skiing, cross country skiing and tobogganing is possible directly from the hotel or from a close proximity. Overall it is a very friendly and personal experience. Very recommended!
