Leider ist die Aussicht, die man bis in die 70er Jahre dort auf den Weissensee hatte zugewachsen. Überhaupt wirkt der Ort bei trüben Wetter etwas einsam und melankolisch. Ein merkwürdig geformter Baum trägt zu dieser Stimmung mit bei. Warum also sollte man als Wanderer und Weissensee-Freund die Urschitzhöhe besuchen? Weil sich im Unterholz, beinah vollständig zugewachsen, die Urschitzhütte verbirgt. Die ganze Hütte ist über und über mit den Namen von Wandersleuten beschriftet und dem Datum, wann sie an der Hütte pausiert haben. Das geht zurück bis in die 50er Jahre! Die Urschitzhöhe und die Urschitzhütte bieten somit ein Tourismus- und Wandererlebnis der nostalgischen Art. Eine Art "Lost Place" des alpinen Tourismus. The Urschitzhöhe lies on the west side of the Weissensee. A winding, mysterious path leads over this height to the Tschabitscher adventure farm. Unfortunately, the view of the Weissensee from there until the 1970s has grown over. In general, the place looks a bit lonely and melancholy in cloudy weather. A strangely shaped tree contributes to this mood. So why should you as a hiker and Weissensee friend visit the Urschitzhöhe? Because the Urschitzhütte is hidden in the undergrowth, almost completely overgrown. The whole hut is labeled over and over with the names of hikers and the date when they stopped at the hut. That goes back to the 50s! The Urschitzhöhe and the Urschitzhütte thus offer a tourism and hiking experience of the nostalgic kind. A kind of "lost place" of alpine tourism.
