Jetzt zu Weihnachten decken wir uns immer mit Punsch ein. Unsere Gäste staunen immer wieder, welche Variationen wir hervorzaubern. Danke dem ganzen Team vom Urbanihof. Diese Qualität ist einfach unschlagbar!

De (BIO) wijnen van Urbanihof zijn fijn, sappig en dorstlessend. De Grüner Veltliners zijn van een uitstekende kwaliteit. Dat geldt overigens ook voor de andere wijnen van onder andere Blauwe Zweigelt en Riesling. Een bijzondere dag bij de uiterst gastvrije Franz & Sonja beleefd. De laatste bleek ook nog een fantastische kok te zijn met heerlijke lokale specialiteiten. Denk daar nog de prachtige landelijke omgeving bij en de cirkel is rond.

Great wines

On a very hot summer day the Paschinger familie ever so kindly regaled us with their truly amazing and refreshing wines, and their wonderful company. We tasted a variety of wines made from Grüner Veltliner among which were their Veltliner Leicht, Classic and Wagramer-Selektion increasing in taste but all retaining a freshness that suited the warm weather perfectly. Additionally we tasted a splendid rosé made from Merlot, a Chardonnay that my father liked particularly well as well as the in my opinion very tasteful Roter Veltliner which had a hint of caramel in its taste and which is characteristic to the Wagram region. Later we would learn that the caramel taste was due to the ripening of that particular wine in wooden barrels as Franz and Sonja told us everything about their vineyard. Urbanihof makes wines biologically which entails finding solutions available in nature to substitute the use of chemicals in the vineyard. Allowing flowers and other plant species to grow between the grapevines increases biodiversity and it even entailes a selfmade organic compost mixture. Franz being tech savvy told us all about the use of data driven innovations to beat issues such as mildew and spoke of his company with a passion that almost made me want to get into the wine business myself. At the end of the day it was with passion that the Paschingers spoke about their wines, it was with passion that they told us about their vineyard and it was passion that we could taste in their wonderful wines. Give Urbanihof a try it might just surprise you as much as it has me.
