★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sport vor der Gründung des SV und Gründung des Vereines
Die Anfänge des Sportvereines gehen zurück in die 50er und 60er Jahre. Damals wurden viele sportliche Aktivitäten von der Volksschule unter Direktor Josef Lechner sowie der Landjugend Miesenbach organisiert und durchgeführt (z. B. Rodelrennen, Sacklrutschen oder Schirennen). Dass es schließlich zur Gründung eines eigenständigen Sportvereins gekommen ist, lag am großen Interesse an Fußball und am Schifahren (besonders durch die Errichtung des Schiliftes Wiesenhofer in den 60er Jahren) sowie auch am Eisstocksport. Der Verein wurde 1971 auf Initiative des heutigen Bürgermeisters ÖR Hans Sorger unter dem Namen UNION MIESENBACH gegründet. Die offizielle Gründungsversammlung des Sportvereines fand allerdings erst zwei Jahre später, am 20. Mai 1973, im Gasthof Paunger statt. Dazu folgender Auszug aus der Chronik der Volksschule Miesenbach, verfasst von Dir. Josef Lechner:

 Sport before the founding of the SV and the founding of the club
The beginnings of the sports club go back to the 50s and 60s. At that time, many sporting activities were organized and carried out by the elementary school under director Josef Lechner and the rural youth in Miesenbach (e.g. toboggan races, sack slides or ski races). The fact that an independent sports club was finally founded was due to the great interest in football and skiing (especially due to the construction of the Wiesenhofer ski lift in the 1960s) as well as ice stock sport. The association was founded in 1971 on the initiative of the current mayor, ÖR Hans Sorger, under the name UNION MIESENBACH. The official inaugural meeting of the sports club did not take place until two years later, on May 20, 1973, in the Gasthof Paunger.
