Im Sommer unglaublich warm im 2. Stock. Der Flur wurde überhaupt nicht gelüftet. Sauber. Betten OK aber verrutschen immer. Küche sehr klein und dunkel.
In the summer incredibly warm on the 2nd floor. The hallway wasn't aired at all. Clean. Beds OK but always slip. Kitchen very small and dark.

Poor experience living in Studentenwohnheim Villach. Extremely small apartment at 12m^2 with a cost of 375 Euros per month. If you have an Auto, you must pay 40 Euros to park in Stuwo. The apartment is poorly ventilated. If you cook in the apartment, you must be prepared to open your doors in order to ventilate. The kitchen is horrendous, small and impractical. The smoke alarm was installed way too near to the cooking devices, due to the low head room. Which triggered the alarm easily.. Apart from that, the walls are extremely thin. There are several inconsiderate neighbors " assi's" living in Stuwo, playing loud music, pushing furnitures, screaming, slamming the doors. Sometimes the noise level goes beyond 0000H. The toilet is horrible as well, the shower cubicle is too small to even maneuver if you are slightly larger in size. Per Usage of Washing machine is 2.50 euros. Ridiculous and hilarious. Sauna was never opened but it's understandable due to covid. However, when the measures were relaxed, the Sauna remained closed. It doesn't make logical sense. Internet connections were great. The cleaning staffs and haustechnik are friendly and communicative. However, the residence manager is horrendous. Rude and unfriendly, this is not how you treat your customers. Apartment is paid for, it doesn't come free. The manager behaves in such a way as if the residents owe her a living. Raising her voice at times. Sometimes, it makes you feel " Did I live here for free? Or did I owed her money? " Horrible... Shouldn't be anywhere near a management position. Especially in an international community.. Overall experience if I could give -1000 stars I would. Never will I live there again. I highly do not recommend this dormitory. Don't waste your time Advice: At 375 Euros, top up a little more and get yourself a better apartment.

After living there for almost two years, I would recommend you to pay more effort and find accommodation in city center. 1. Administration is not helpful at some point. 2. Very expressive rent 3. Washing machine are fine but expensive 2.5€ per round. Dryers are useless but for free 4. Thin walls and poor ventilation system (if any neighbor cooks you can smell everything for long period) 5. Very hot in summer 6. Not only students live there you might find tourists, workers, etcs 7. Once I faced blockage in the sewer system, i guess due to small pipes or poor design. It took two days to solve. Finally, I would recommend reading the contact letter by letter as you have three months notice period, 89€ final cleaning fees (its not guaranteed to be clean when first move in, i found rotten food and rusty microwave) and worst that if you wanted to change roommate you have to pay fees and wait for months.

It's near to the university. There are no grocery shops nearby , have to walk few kms to find one. City centre is 4kms away. There is bus service in every 1 hour.

For one semester I have been resident at the STUWO dormitory. This was my summer semester abroad. During a challenging time as it was during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021. However, during my stay I truely had a wonderful experience. Meeting amazing new people that became very close friends, going on adventures and luckily having the room with the best view (east side) waking up everyday looking at Carinthia's beautiful mountains. In regards of the dormitory itself, I was very pleased with my room, the kitchen and the bathroom. The staff was very helpfull and guided me through the process from day 1. Weekly my appartment was cleaned. During summer it was quite hot though in the building. Living on the second floor was like living in a sauna. Nothing much you can do about it. I personally bought a portable fan. This you should get for sure if you are staying in STUWO for your summer semester. That or a portable AC if you can afford it. For those that enjoy playing videogames the internet speed was perfect. I never encountered issues with my LAN connection and had an average of 100 MB's download and upload. Wifi could be tricky sometimes but did not encounter many issues with it. The dormitory itself is located in a nice location. It will take you 5 minutes to walk to the FH campus and is located near two beautiful lakes. Silbersee (15 minute walk) Magdalensee (20 minute walk) close to the dormitory there is a outdoor BBQ you can use for free at the FH lab (2 minute walk) The dorms has a parkinglot which comes with a monthly fee, however a free-parkinglot is also located nearby. Overall I had a pleasent stay and I highly recommend the dormitory! Here are some tips: 1. Buy a nice knife set you can get for 40 euros at SPAR. Yes the dormitory provides kitchen appliances but the knifes are quite blunt. 2. Get yourself a simple rice cooker or other usefull equipment to make your stay easier. 3. If you study at FH for one semester ask for a bike its for free and you only need a 50 euro deposit 4. 100% get a fan or portable AC if you are staying in the summer 5. Bring some basic tools with you, I personally needed a screwdriver every now and then and get yourself a bike pump if you have a bike. 6. The green pillows that come with the appartment could be used to extend your bed by an extra 20 centimeters if you tuck them into the bed below it 7. If your room does not have a net for the window to keep insects out I would ask the staff for help or see if you can install it yourself if it is approved. (my room luckily already had one)
