M	Markus Schaubmaier on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ob Kaiser Heinrich II. das Land am Pyhrn an das Bistum Bamberg schenkte, ist nicht sicher. Wahrscheinlich geht die Erwerbung erst auf die Zeit um 1060 zurück. Auffallend ist, dass es am späteren Standort des Stiftes um 1128 einen großen Hof gegeben hat. Aber nicht dort, sondern weiter nördlich gegen Windischgarsten wurde damals an einem ähnlichen Hof das erste Hospiz am Weg über den Pyhrn von Otto I. von Bamberg begründet, das nur kurze Zeit bestand. Damals dürfte auch eine Valentinskirche in Windischgarsten errichtet worden sein. Auf jeden Fall ein Highlight im schönen Spital am Pyhrn. :-) Whether Emperor Henry II gave the land on the Pyhrn to the diocese of Bamberg is not certain. The acquisition probably dates back to around 1060. It is striking that there was a large courtyard at the later location of the monastery around 1128. But not there, but further north against Windischgarsten the first hospice on the way over the Pyhrn of Otto I. von Bamberg was established at a similar yard, which existed only a short time. At that time, a Valentine's Church was probably built in Windischgarsten. Definitely a highlight in the beautiful Spital am Pyhrn. :-)
S	Stefan Kaar on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Die barocke Domkulisse direkt am Pyhrn gehört zu der Pfarrkirche Mariä Himmelfahrt. Sie sollte nicht nur wegen ihrer künstlerischen Pracht besucht werden. Auch die Teilnahme an den Gottesdiensten ist sehr empfehlenswert. Wirklich bedeutende Barockkünstler schufen hier überall ein wunderschönes Gesamtkunstwerk. Einen absoluten Höhepunkt der Kirchenmalerei stellen die Altomonte Fresken dar. Das Abschlußgitter ist sicher ein fixer Bestandteil der eindrucksvollsten Schmiedearbeiten von Österreich. The baroque cathedral backdrop directly on the Pyhrn belongs to the parish church of the Assumption of Mary. It shouldn't be visited just for its artistic splendor. Participation in church services is also highly recommended. Really important baroque artists created a wonderful work of art everywhere. The Altomonte frescoes represent an absolute highlight of church painting. The final grille is certainly an integral part of the most impressive ironwork in Austria.
