Nice hotel with grear spa facilities. Staff let the whole experience down. These are my ratings (1 to 5 ) for this hotel. * location: 2 15 minutes walk to the town centre. * facilities : 5 Top class * Room service: 5. Received service with a smile. * Housekeeping : 2 The plug in the sink was jammed and they could not fix it and gave up very easily. I ended up fixing it myself. * Reception 3. Could be better. Very little information given during check in. With the literature mostly in German it would have been nice if they explained things more thoroughly. When my bathroom sink plug was blocked. I asked for a pointed steak knife to unblock it when housekeeping could not fix it. but they wanted me to move rooms at 9pm in the evening. * Spa: 5 Excellent facilities. * Restaurant :1 I turned up at 8pm and asked for a table for 2. The hostess very courtly told me since I did not have a booking they could not give me a table as they were full. When I mentioned this was not explained to me at check in she was not interested and told me to speak to reception. I left as it was pointless to argue with such a abrupt cold person. There were many empty seats in the restaurant however!!. I complained to reception as to why this was not mentioned during check in especialky as the hotel is far away from town. The lady apologised and suggested that I could eat at the bar, which the hostess at the restaurant could have done herself. Bar 2 - Food was alright however the barlady was not a very smily person. I appreciate she was having a busy evening but when I asked for a steak knife ( to unblock the bathroom sink) she got all flustered and I had to insist she call the restaurant to send someone down with steak knife. Yet to rate check out and breakfast

The view is great, the rooms nice, and the food fairly good. However, the food prices are expensive, the rooms hot (no air conditioning, and our first floor room only had a door to the outside, without a screen, so no way to open a window to cool off at night), and the staff very unhelpful. When we checked in, they didn't give us any information but our room number. I had to drag information out of the person at the front desk to get answers about parking. (You can park outside the hotel for free--limited spots--or inside the garage. To park in the garage, you need to get a parking pass from the front desk and display it on your car's dash. The amount for the pass is billed to your room.) We also had to hunt around for the wifi password--it's on a small sign on the corner of the front desk. Later we had to ask when and where breakfast is. (When you enter the hotel, it is on the right, up the stairs, and it's buffet style. At the time we stayed, breakfast was served 6:30 to...10:30, I believe.) This would have been less frustrating if there was information of any kind in the room, but there was no booklet or brochure that talked about any of these things like other hotels have. We also did manicures and massages, which was a great experience. To get to the salon, take the elevator in the lobby to the 3rd floor, then follow the hallway around to the right, until you pass a sitting area and then get to another set of elevators. At this point, the third floor is considered the 2nd floor, and the salon is on the first floor, so take the stairs or elevator down one floor to get to the salon. I still don't know what time checkout is--we just checked out around 10:15. Right before we left, a maid opened our room door without knocking, even though we had the do not disturb sign on the door. That was incredibly annoying. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Where to begin all over all it was a nice stay from the 3rd through 5th of Jaenner . Front Desk very nice and helpful, Service friendly but needs definitely improvement. As a Guest I'm not intrested how many days someone has has to work on a row and complaining about it. I think it comes with the Job description and as far as I know there is always a compensation. Serving Wiskey in a Liquor glas should not happens, even I have been told that the whiskey glasses got broken at the New Years Evening Party. Been there at the 3rd of January somebody or at least the F&B Manager should go shopping for glasses. Now getting to the real disappointment the Restaurant. Being at a certain time in Krems there are not many choices to go out for Dinner because half of the restaurants in town are closed for vacation. So I choose the Restaurant at the Hotel. The Starter provided by the kitchen was very impressive and good so I thought way to go and got all excited for the things to come. Ordered a Ribeye Steak medium rare served rare sending it back came back medium well. All what I wanted was a salad to my steak and got served with a salad from the buffet. I can understand to provide a buffet at certain days to take the pressure away from the kitchen and make it a little bit easier for service and kitchen. But than there is no excuse to serve food with no attention to the details. My deconstruction of a black Forrest Cake was a disaster, burned bottom tasteless and not eatable. The idea behind great but the execution a failure. From a Steigenberger Hotel and Spa I expected a better standard in food.

Location awesome. Superb view. Great swimming pools outdoor and indoor. Great breakfast too. But shame no aircon in our bedroom ( for a 4* ?!) And diner was not so nice and expensive.

Having seen many hotel rooms and suites around the world I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the hotel and entered my room. It feels like a suite but is a normal room and what a pleasant surprise. I had the half board option which included dinner and while the food was good the wine and Schnapps was to die for. You should ask for Mr. Hiebler who will pair your food with some of the best wines you ever had and all locally sourced. After dinner ask him for a little Schnapps tasting and once again all locally sourced from families he knows and you will be in for a real treat.
