★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Den alten "Schmugglerweg" zwischen Deutschland und Österreich von früher gibt es heute noch als Wanderweg. Du findest ihn, wenn Du von 4090 Engelhartszell, mit der Donaufähre zur anderenekommen, gibt ed den Flußseite übersetzt. Von dort ist er ausgeschildert und bis zum Gipfel brauchst Du ca 1,5 - 2Stunden.Oben angekommen, gibt es als Aussicht den "Penzenstein" mit einer wundervollen Aussicht und eine Kapelle. Für eine gute Jause wandert mannoch 25 Minuten zur Gaststätte mit Hotel. Ein schöner Ausflug und beim Abstieg geht man unten zu Fuß über das Schiffshebewerk zurück nach Engelhartszell. Ein herrliches Wandererlebnis im Grenzbereich zwischen Österreicher und Deutschland.
The old "smuggler's path" between Germany and Austria from the past still exists as a hiking trail. You will find it when you come from 4090 Engelhartszell, with the Danube ferry to the other side, translated into the river side. From there it is signposted and it takes you about 1.5 - 2 hours to reach the summit. Once at the top, there is a view of the "Penzenstein" with a wonderful view and a chapel. For a good snack, you can walk 25 minutes to the restaurant with hotel. A nice excursion and on the descent you walk back to Engelhartszell via the ship lift. A wonderful hiking experience in the border area between Austria and Germany.
