Mit diesem Geyerhammer ist es möglich eine Ahnung zu bekommen, wie es den Menschen, unseren Ahnen, früher ergangen ist. Wer von unseren Kindern kennt noch das Mähen mit der Sense. Es ist auch ein Stück Naturverbundenheit, damals hat man noch gewusst mit der Kraft der Natur zu arbeiten ohne sie zu zerstören. Einen großen Dank an die Menschen, die solche wertvollen Relikte für die Nachwelt erhalten und dadurch uns heute Geschichte hautnah erleben lassen. A piece of history, a museum that brings the life and work of our ancestors back to life and reminds us of the ancestors. With this Geyerhammer it is possible to get an idea of how human beings, our ancestors, used to be. Who of our children still knows the mowing with the scythe. It is also a bit of a bond with nature, at that time one knew how to work with the power of nature without destroying it. A big thank you to the people who receive such valuable relics for posterity and thereby let us experience history up close.

Kombinierbar mit einer kurzen Wanderung auf die Ruine Scharnstein mit Blick ins herrliche Almtal und/oder Besuch des Kriminalmuseums Scharnstein. Worth seeing museum, historically very interesting. Located directly on the Almfluss. Combinable with a short hike to the ruins Scharnstein with a view of the beautiful Almtal and / or visit the Kriminalmuseum Scharnstein.

Der Herr konnte es so toll übermitteln, dass es wirklich interessant war. Auch die abschließende Gastronomieempfehlung war super! Es ist definitiv ein Besuch wert!!! Very nice little museum. Since there were no other guests, we got a small private tour. The Lord was so good at delivering it that it was really interesting. The final gastronomic recommendation was also great! It is definitely worth a visit !!!

Sehenswertes Video aus dem Jahr 1987 (vor der endgültigen Einstellung der Produktion) mit den einzelnen Verarbeitungsschritten. Schön gestaltete Schautafeln und Anschauungsobjekte, welche unterschiedlichen Formen es bei den Sensen gibt und in welch zahlreiche Länder die Sensen exportiert wurden. Außerdem Informationen zum sozialen Umfeld der Produktion kennen - bis hin zur Wohnsituation und einem Streik der Arbeiter. Jeden 1. Samstag im Monat ist ein Schauschmieden angekündigt, bei dem man das alles erleben kann. Sonderausstellungen z.B. ‚Hunderwassers Paradiese‘ (4.7.-16.8.2020) mit Fotos von Erika Schmied. Impressive representation of the history of scythe production in all its facets. Watchable video from 1987 (before the final cessation of production) with the individual processing steps. Beautifully designed display boards and display objects, which different forms there are for the scythes and to which numerous countries the scythes were exported. Also know information about the social environment of production - right down to the living situation and a strike by the workers. A show smithy is announced every 1st Saturday of the month, where you can experience it all. Special exhibitions e.g. 'Hunderwasser's paradises' (4.7.-16.8.2020) with photos by Erika Schmied.
