Reasonably priced at 11 euros, the Seegrotte was definitely worth the trip if you are taking a day trip to Mödling from Vienna. A 20-30 minute walk away from the town, the tour took you to the underground mine and largest underground sea in Europe. The tour guide was well versed in English and German and gave us an insight into what the caves were used for during WWII. The tour included a short boat ride around the cave and lasted about 45 minutes. Well worth your time to drop by and visit.

Very nice place if you have a way around. They say it's one of the biggest underground lake in Europe. It's really charming, especially when you are ona boat. The undegroud walk is not long but you will see a lot of of nice places and history of the cave. Everybody can go there and kids were very happy down inside. Surrounding country is amazing with lot of small hikes. We came from Bratislava and it worth it.

Walking through the tunnels and knowing the history behind, was a great experience overall! The guided tour was great! Probably would have been just okay if it was just touring ourselves. But since the guide was kind and very informative, it was made very special. ~45 mins with 10-15 min. boat ride. Fully worth it!

Tourist trap. The lake itself is beautiful, but the actual boat ride takes only about 5 minutes. The rest of the tour is fast walking across the mine with very brief interruptions of the guide. The scenes that aim to recreate the life and work of miners and horses look pathetic and unnatural. They even charge for blanket rental, though it’s 8 degrees celsius in the mines.

Very nice. You have 1 drive with boat about 8 minutes. If you go bring some jacket in all year the temperature is 9°C. Or you can rent blenky for 0.50€. After boat drive you can stay inside how much you want.People who work there are freundly but like programired. I was drink in restaurant very expencive, 1 Coca cola 3,90€. But good experience an not far from Vienna. With train from Meidling Bahnhof bis Mödling and from Mödling with bus 364 or 365 to Seegrote Hinterbrühl about 8 station.

Interesting place to visit. The cave is natural created but the water level is maintained by human. The cave and lake itself are quite plain, but with the light and electric boat and the bgm the tour trip is quite exciting. The historic spot inside also add a bit of romantic. A good one day trip option from Wien.

Very nice mine with underground lake. There is quite cold (they said us 9°C) and I would recommend to have some warmer clothes (at least hoodie). After guided tour and a boat trip you can walk freely and take photos (taking videos are forbidden for some reason).

A historic site of gypsum mines. The level of the water is around 60 m. However there are 7 different sources from which water seeps in. Water is regularly flushed out to maintain the level below 1.2 m from the surface. There are calcium deposits in the water due to which no signs of life are seen.
