Im Zentrum steht die Kunstsammlung von Josef und Irene Schütz, ergänzt durch internationale und zeitgenössische Werke. Die Lage direkt an der Donau in Engelhartszell wurde gewählt, weil hier die Schiffe anlegen und der Radweg vorbei führt. Im Herbst 2021wird der Museumsbau offiziell eröffnet werden. Gegründet wurde das private Museum von Prof. Josef Schütz, einem Bauunternehmer, der die Kunst liebte und sammelte. Im Zentrum steht Bildende Kunst der Klassischen Moderne aus Österreich, umrahmt von weiteren Werken aus dem 19. und 20. Jahrhundert bis zur Gegenwart. Darunter finden sich Künstler und Künstlerinnen wie Klimt, Schiele, Kokoschka, Waldmüller, Schindler, Wisinger-Florian, Moll, Eisenschitz, Moser, Dobrowsky, Walde, Egger-Lienz, Pauser, Kubin, Oppenheimer, Kolig, Hundertwasser, Blau, von Zülow, Boeckl, Birkle u.a. Sie bilden die Dauerausstellung und werden ergänzt durch drei Sonderausstellungen pro Jahr mit Werken aus privaten Sammlungen. The private museum was founded by Prof. Josef Schütz, a building contractor who loved and collected art. The focus is on the fine arts of classical modernism from Austria, framed by other works from the 19th and 20th centuries to the present day. Parkplätze vorhanden. Since 2021 a modern museum on the Danube in Engelhartszell. The contrast between the old site and the new museum is delightful. There is also a café in the building. Parking lots available.
