Unfortunately, there is not even a blackboard that describes what it actually is and that Schönbrunn was originally named after.

In der Ecke eines Heckenganges auf der Meidlinger Seite gelegen, wurde das vermutlich vom Hofgärtner Steckhoven errichtete erste Brunnenhaus im Jahre 1771 durch einen Neubau ersetzt, den der Hofarchitekt Isidor Canevale ausführte.Ursprünglich als „Ruine von Karthago“ bezeichnet, steht die Römische Ruine am Fuße des bewaldeten Schönbrunner Berges. Von oben kommend nicht ganz leicht zu finden, man muß beim Schönbrunner Bad vorbei und in den Wald. One of the most graceful figures in the palace park. Located in the corner of a hedge walk on the Meidlinger side, the first fountain house, probably built by court gardener Steckhoven, was replaced in 1771 by a new building by court architect Isidor Canevale. Originally known as the "Ruin of Carthage", the Roman ruins stand at the foot of the wooded Schönbrunn mountain. Not easy to find when coming from above, you have to pass the Schönbrunner Bad and into the forest.
