★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Das Schloss war der ehemalige Ansitz der Herren von Alben.[1] Dieses Geschlecht hatte das Amt der Erbausfergen in Laufen inne[2] und in Salzburg das Amt des Erbmundschenken; die Familie ist 1561 mit Eustachius von Albm ausgestorben.
Das Schloss ist mit ziemlicher Sicherheit das Herkunftsgut des Bischofs von Chiemsee Georg Altdorfer.[3] Später kam der Bau ganz in den Besitz des Bistums Chiemsee und dann in den der Jesuiten. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde er zum Bauerngut Schlossbauer bzw. dem heutigen Gasthof.
 The castle was the former residence of the Lords of Alben. [1] This sex held the office of Erbausfergen in Laufen [2] and the office of hereditary cupbearers in Salzburg; the family died out in 1561 with Eustachius von Albm.
The castle is almost certainly the property of the Bishop of Chiemsee Georg Altdorfer. [3] The building later came into the ownership of the Chiemsee diocese and then that of the Jesuits. In the 19th century it became the Schlossbauer farm or today's inn.
