Auf der einen Seite fristet er eher ein Dasein als unbekannter Gipfel in diesem weitläufigen Hochplateau, auf der anderen Seite wird dieser aussichtsreiche Gipfel mit einem der schönsten Gipfelkreuze der Alpen geziert. Es handelt sich nämlich um das einzige Glaskreuz, dass einen hohen Gipfel ziert und das absolut sehenswert ist. Ich hatte noch das Glück, dieses Monument zu besuchen, bevor es aus unerklärlichen Gründen zerstört wurde. The high Schartwand is a very special peak in the Tennengebirge. On the one hand, it ekes out an existence as an unknown peak in this extensive high plateau, on the other hand, this promising summit is adorned with one of the most beautiful summit crosses in the Alps. It is the only glass cross that adorns a high peak and that is absolutely worth seeing. I was lucky enough to visit this monument before it was inexplicably destroyed.

Gegebenenfalls Übernachtung in der Hackel Hütte, eine Einkehr dort lohnt immer. Idealerweise kombiniert man die Tour mit Abstechern zu Tauern- und Eiskogel. Promising tour for good walkers. Technically easy, but good physical condition necessary. If necessary, spend the night in the Hackel Hütte, a stop there is always worthwhile. Ideally, you combine the tour with side trips to the Tauern and Eiskogel.
