Very beautiful mountain lake / mirror lake with crystal clear water. Bathing is prohibited, but many children still go swimming.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sehr gemütlicher Rundweg. Allerdings wer versucht den Dachstein zu sehen wird enttäuscht werden da man viele tolle Berggipfel sehen kann jedoch nicht den Dachstein. Die Himmelsrichtung stimmt jedoch fehlen dem Aussichtspunkt ungefähr 200 Höhenmeter.
Very comfortable circular route. However, whoever tries to see the Dachstein will be disappointed because you can see many great mountain peaks but not the Dachstein. The direction of the compass is correct, however, the vantage point lacks about 200 meters in altitude.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Der Aufstieg von der Mittelstation lohnt sich sehr! Eine grandiose Sicht auf die Berge. Natürlich ist es nicht besonders toll, in einem Skigebiet zu wandern, aber hier rentiert es sich wirklich.
The ascent from the middle station is very worthwhile! A great view of the mountains. Of course, hiking in a ski area isn't great, but it's really worth it here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Firstly stars given aren't a reflection of the location (i couldn't comment without). Unfortunately was not able to visit the lake, even though it's one of the reasons I came to Hinterstoder. Brought a ticket for the cable car/chair lift, specifically to visit the lake but was kicked off the chairlift stage because I was not skiing. No amount of discussion would the operator let me go to the top. Pretty annoyed as ticket office said it was no problems. Researched prior and after, nothing mentions how difficult it is to visit mid winter. So this review is purely to tell others, wait until the ski season is over. I'll be back in the spring.
