Die kulinarische Auswahl auf der Alm ist leider sehr dürftig und lieblos (nur Suppen oder Frankfurter), nichts wirklich Selbstgemachtes. Up here you have a very nice view! The hiking trail from Großarl is very beautiful and varied. The culinary selection on the Alm is unfortunately very poor and loveless (only soups or frankfurters), nothing really homemade.
T	Thomas Heinick on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nach einer anspruchsvollen und relativ anstrengenden Wanderung ausgehend von Großarl kommt man nach ca. 2 Stunden auf der Saukarlalm an und es erwartet einen eine bombastische Aussicht auf die umliegenden Berge. Die Almhütte lädt zu einer wohlverdienten Pause bei einer zünftigen Jause ein, bevor die wunderschöne Landschaft zum Weiterwandern aufruft. Wer genug vom Wandern hat, kann auch den Rückweg antreten oder mit einem Taxi zurück fahren. After a demanding and relatively strenuous hike starting from Großarl, you arrive at the Saukarlalm after approx. 2 hours and you can expect a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains. The alpine hut invites you to take a well-deserved break with a hearty snack before the beautiful landscape calls for further hiking. If you have had enough of hiking, you can take the way back or take a taxi back.
R	Robert S. (Robby) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sehr schöne Hütte. Und der Hüttenwirt ist ein Original. "Hart", aber herzlich. :-) Seid Jahren eine meiner liebsten Hütten und Gastber. Danke S und A. :-) EDIT: Viele "Wanderer" meinen sie könnten sich alles erlauben. Sei es den Müll auf der Alm zu lassen, aufs Klo zu gehen ohne konsummieren, sich nicht an die Corona-Regeln zu halten. Und dann wundern sie sich wenn der Inhaber Ihnen die Meinung sagt. Very nice hut. And the hut keeper is an original. "Hard" but hearty. :-) Have been one of my favorite huts and hosts for years. Thanks S and A. :-) EDIT: Many "hikers" think they can do anything. Be it leaving the rubbish on the mountain pasture, going to the toilet without consuming, not adhering to the Corona rules. And then they wonder if the owner gives you their opinion.

Man sollte etwas Zeit mitbringen, da alles frisch zubereitet wird. Aber es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.. Absolut empfehlenswert... Fantastically located Alm with a unique view of the mountains ... and there are many delicacies, including the best Kaiserschmaren far and wide. You should bring some time with you as everything is freshly prepared. But it's definitely worth it .. Highly recommended ...
