Rund um den Römerberg, gab es das römische Befestigungslager LENTIA(LINZ). Lentia, war Teil des LIMES(Nordgrenze). Linz(LENTIA), hatte vermutlich so einigen Angriffen der Germanischen Stämme, unter Kaiser Marc Aurel standgehalten. Der Römerberg, hatte daher eine strategisch gesehene wichtige Aufgabe, das Gebiet nördlich der Donau einzusehen! ...Und jetzt, eine Lentia(Linzertorte) Torte :-)
The Römerberg, the location for well-heeled citizens of Linz. But nevertheless, Roman history was written here. Around the Römerberg, there was the Roman fortification camp LENTIA(LINZ). Lentia, was part of the LIMES(northern border). Linz(LENTIA), had probably withstood a number of attacks by the Germanic tribes under Emperor Marc Aurel. The Römerberg therefore had a strategically important task to look into the area north of the Danube! ...And now, a Lentia(Linzertorte) cake :-)
