Staff were friendly and helpful, the location was perfect, breakfast was very good.. cleaning service was not satisfying and there were bedbugs in bedsheets...

A well situated nice, three star hotel near the castle. Spacious room and bathroom. Large, elegant shower, a large cabinet with shelves and large mirror above the sink. Rich and tasty buffet breakfast. Kind Hungarian staff. Private parking. It could be a perfect hotel if the owner, Ms. Gertraud Pfeifer knew the meaning of the word „hospitality”. There is no fridge in the guestrooms or anywhere in the guest areas! After 4 o’clock there is no staff in the 32 room hotel! There is a phone number that guests in need may call, but no one has picked it up for hours. When finally the owner called back, she got upset at our request that we would like to find a place for our food and icepacks. ”You should have said that at check-in!” “I am not obligated to provide a fridge for you!” We were begging her to find a solution and suggested some ideas: if no one was able to come back to the hotel and put our things in their large fridge in the kitchen, we offered to take our food to any address. She refused to help. We asked her to give us the phone number of any of her Hungarian speaking colleagues, thinking that getting help on our mother tongue, may be easier. She refused to do that also. So, we set on the edge of the beds and ate up what we could – the food we had for four people for a whole day excursion next day, some chocolate we bought for gifts. The rest spoiled and melt, as it was 30 C degrees. (Our financial loss was 120 euros.) Why were we sitting on the edge of the bed? Because there was not a table nor a single chair in the large room that accommodated 5! There was no air-conditioning or at least a fan in the hot, attic room, and we could not open the windows until 1:30 am because of the noise coming from the Café down the street. The beds in this hot room had heavy winter comforters! We took off the covers and used those to cover ourselves. The pillows were large, shapeless, uncomfortable. The basic function of any hotel is to provide comfortable sleep. We did not get that here either. When finally we were through this not very restful night and enjoyed the delicious breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant, the owner showed up. Instead of apologizing or leaving us alone, she stated again the she was not required to provide a fridge for the guests. No, she may not be. It is just a humanitarian thing. Hospitality.
